DOWSIL™ 2080 Resin reacts stably with organic resins in dry condition, creating powder form silicone-organic copolymers that act as superior binders for heat-resistant powder coatings.

Current technology and high temperature resistant powder coatings leave significant unmet needs in the industry. Traditional solutions rely on flake silicone resin and polyester powdered resin to be blended together.
The incompatibility and different melting viscosity between silicone and polyester resin leads to a rough surface coating severely limiting applications and performance. DOWSIL™ 2080 Resin bypasses these concerns while also offering enhanced appearance under high temperature strains.

Due to its ability to maintain stable performance and high gloss appearance, DOWSIL™ 2080 Resin is particularly suited for external coatings of cookware, grills and ovens. The weatherability and heat resistance required for these applications is present even up to 300° C.
When tested for 3 hours baking at this high heat gloss retention remains significantly higher than traditional high temperature polyester, in fact no appearance change is detectable at 300° C for powder coatings made by P-SMP.
