KAHAI
Kahai is the first company in the world to industrialize a new Amazon nut called “Cacay”, from which it extracts a precious oil for skin and hair care. Kahai is the largest Cacay oil producer owning a 650 hectares plantation, which allows it to offer large scalability with total traceability. It is exporting to more than 20 countries worldwide and has the only Cacay Oil approved for China.
Since 2009, the company is working with NGOs, such as WWF, USAID and the cooperation agency from Germany, bringing Cacay trees to peasant and indigenous communities, as an alternative for reforestation, illicit crops substitution, food safety and economic growth. It is currently impacting more than 500 families in Colombia’s Amazon region.
