Q-CEL 6014
Q-Cel® Lightweight series products have a density approximately one-fifth of most thermoset resins.
On an equal weight basis, the Q-Cel® hollow spheres occupy about five times more volume than an equivalent weight of resin, which can reduce compound weight and cost. They can replace heavy fillers, such as calcium carbonate, talc and clays, thus lowering the weight of composite materials. Spheres have the lowest surface area of any filler type, thus the lowest resin demand. Lower viscosities are common, allowing less resin to be used, usually resulting in cost savings in many applications.
Q-Cel® 6014® is recommended for castings applications with polyesters, urethanes, PVC plastisol, and other systems where low viscosity and low shear processing conditions are used.
